HI Emma,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Krista Hennessy. I don't know if you remember me. I am a teacher, now at the Lawrence School, and when I was at Morse Pond School, I had your sister Rebecca. She recently contacted me before she went out to sea with SEA. It was great to catch up with her and, of course, I got some info on you. Your doings were of particular interest to me because I have a dear friend who is doing reforestation work in Burkina. Her name is Elisabeth Rehault (in French pronounced RE-O). Elisabeth and her daughter-in-law, Sonia, have just returned from 3 weeks in Burkina. They were in a small town called Reo (oddly enough)near Koudougou.
Anyway, this is kind of a cosmic thing, my friend's son and daughter-in-law, Christophe and Sonia, are here visiting from France for the Thanksgiving holiday. We were just looking at about 300 photos from Burkina and I mentioned you. We went to your blog to figure out where you are in relation to Reo. There you have posted a photo of a man named Ryan who Sonia immediately recognized, and who evidently has a wife named Sonia too!
I hope you have a chance to meet my friend Elisabeth as she knows Ryan and his wife. Her organization is called Baobab 29. She and her husband Jean Pierre go to Burkina about four times a year and she is due back in January.
Enough of the small world stuff! I am so glad you are having this incredible experience. Take care of yourself and have an amazing time. You are doing wonderful and necessary work.
I'll keep in touch,
Krista Hennessy
Hi Emma!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog from facebook. Thanks for sharing your experience. I just had to comment when I saw the picture of Siad. He might be the cutest child ever! Now that I know about this I can keep up with your adventures.
Take care,
Megan
